A school day that brought so much joy

I’m a day behind in sharing, so this will be a two day update.

Yesterday and today we visited the Colon school - a new addition to the Valley partnership. It was my favorite stop this week!! Colon is a Christian school and kids attend K-9. They have to go onto public school to complete high school as Colon doesn’t have the space or resources to continue past 9th grade.

Yesterday we joined the kids in the afternoon and hosted VBA. They sang and worshipped with their eyes closed and hands up. They loved playing games and dancing along to the puppets.

The students are learning English at every grade level, so the older kids speak pretty good English! I thoroughly enjoyed talking with them about what they want to do when they grow up and what their favorite subject is. The kiddo below wants to be an engineer!

Today we painted within the school - classrooms, exterior walls and window and door frames.

We enjoyed a delicious Honduran meal for lunch and ended the day with a student program and church service! The kids sang for us and then we worshipped together!

The Valley has also adopted 25+ students to attend this school this year and we got to meet the kiddos our families sponsor! The sweet boy my family sponsored is below.

Though we are tired and have no clean clothes left, our hearts are full of love for the Honduran people! It has been an incredible week! Tomorrow will not be goodbye, it’s another see you later!
