A day full of blessings

Well the post I wrote last night disappeared when I tried to publish it, so I will attempt it again after a night of rest.

Yesterday we returned to Nueva Confienza where we removed a treeline, dug trenches, laid rock and pour concrete to make a wall around the church (very common here). We were blessed to accomplish way more than the pastors expected, and their joy was so encouraging! Our bus drivers were right there with us the entire day and we can not express our much their selflessness and work ethic meant to us this week!

Before arriving at the church, we visited a suspension bridged used by the Hondurans to cross the river with bicycles and other modes of transportation. Some enjoyed rocking the bridge, while others held on for dear life, and the rest experienced it from the ground. No matter where you experienced though, the view was beautiful!

We thoroughly enjoyed playing with the kids! They come by the church we were working at before and after school and even during their hour recess! We played soccer and basketball, taught them a dance and patty cake.

We have also encountered a wide variety of animals! From a monkey and a centipede, to many tarantulas, geckos, bee hives and free roaming horses, cattle, goats, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats.

After we finished far more than we expected to accomplish, we had the opportunity to visit the parsonage we worked on last year at La Confienza. It is absolutely beautiful! They added tile all throughout the house and on the porch, added hand craft wood door frames and hand painted the pillars!

Afterwards we hosted 90+ kids for VBA. We loved their pure joy!

We ended our evening with dinner at Pastor Henry and his wife Xenia’s parsonage in Saba. They treated us to a meal with El Salvador roots and it was exceptional, as always!!

Today is our sabbath. We are enjoying the beach and I will share more in another post!

Thank you for your prayers!
